About Bear Peak Ranch
Formerly known as the Maxie Ranch (Riding Stables), Bear Peak Ranch is a Quarter Horse ranch in Southeast Saskatchewan, Canada, owned by Delmar & Jackie Maxie and managed by son Barrett Maxie. Started as the Maxie Ranch in the early 90's turned into an honest & reliable performance horse breeding program which needed a name of it's own not known as a riding stable, therefore Bear Peak was born.
Â
Dedicated to raising versatile, athletic, good‑minded horses for everyday ranch use but athletic and consistent enough to compete in the arena.
Our program focuses on performance-bred Quarter Horses with cow sense, soundness, athleticism, and trainability to excel in roping, ranch work and cutting, while staying gentle and honest enough for everyday ranch families. By blending proven Canadian and American bloodlines and raising our horses on native grass, we produce reliable partners you can trust in and out of the arena
Â
We strive for the best and stay with the times as far as bloodlines but we've found mountains of success breeding Two Eyed Jack bred horses which you will find all throughout our program.Â
Our goal
Built for the ranch, ready for the arena.
We are focused on creating a good all around horse that can dominate in the arena on the weekends and look good doing it but be ridden by dad doctoring cows during the week and then left to babysit the kids after school.
